RFPD has continued to create new partnerships, gain members, initiate projects and develop the vision of the future of RFPD. We remain the largest of Rotary's Rotarian Action Groups (RAG's), with more than 20,000 members, and over 100 Rotary leaders working in 75 countries. RFPD currently has 93 projects that total over $6,000,000, in Latin America, India, Sub-Sahara Africa and North Africa/Egypt. We work in accordance with the policies of Rotary International, however we receive no direct funds from Rotary International (RI) or The Rotary Foundation (TRF).

RFPD's key strategies are to:

  • Promote balance between population and resources;
  • Create healthy families
  • Advocate on population issues, including alleviating poverty, educating women, informing on and organizing child spacing services, reducing child and maternal mortality;
  • Initiate, support and co-fund Matching Grant projects with support from The Rotary Foundation. Projects initiated and supported by RFPD include reproductive and maternal health, family planning, literacy, micro-credit and vocational skills;
  • Organize large projects co-funded by other sources.

We continue our effort to educate Rotarians, Rotary Leadership and others on Population Concerns. We increase our activities to include Rotaract (Rotarian Youth) and Inner Wheel (Spouses of Rotarians). We support our Country Chairs (CC's), Zone Coordinators (ZC's) and Assistant Zone Coordinators (AZC's). We increase membership and Matching Grant (MG) projects with TRF.
