1. Job Description of Country Chair

Rotarian Action Group for Population & Development 1. Must be an active Rotarian,
preferably a Past District Governor, fully informed and committed to the ideas that population issues and unsustainable development are global problems of great concern
and that Rotary International is an organization that can create positive solutions to these problems.2. Must be a Rotarian active at the club,
district and zone levels of Rotary life and be willing and able to actively bring the issue of Population & Development to the discussion agenda. 3.
Serves as the organizational base for Rotarians in his or her country who are interested in the Population & Development issue by:
- Seek the support of the district governors and past governors of his country whenever possible (see RI Code of Policies which generally encourages governors,
districts and clubs to promote fellowships), and the RI Menu of Service Opportunities recommend to clubs, which includes Population Concerns.
- Establish and maintain an RFPD team with at least a deputy countrychair, secretary and treasurer.
- Incorporate the RFPD country section – if applicable in the country for the benefit of being permitted to take tax advantages.
- As incorporated body, established and maintaintain a board of directors and an advisory board in which acting governor(s) should be incldued
.
- Establish a bank account in the name of RFPD, receive income from membership dues and donations, pay accounts due, and render annual financial reports at the end
of each year to the RFPD Executive Director. Being fully responsible and liable for RFPD activities in the country.
- Establish and maintain contacts to local and international family planning organizations, also via email and internet.
- Invite representatives of such family planning organizations to presentations at Rotary Club, District and RFPD events.
- Request family planning organizations to make available information material of all sorts for RFPD for distribution to RFPD members and potential members.
- Distribute RFPD newsletter "Fragile Earth" in English speaking countries or Publishing quarterly/semiannual newsletters to members in the country in the
local language. The basic RFPD newsletter "Fragile Earth" will be produced by the RFPD US office; the country chairman should translate this newsletter
if appropiate, reproduce it and add other articles and publish it to members within the country.
- Respond to general inquiries from Rotarians and others in the country.
- Promote membership in RFPD among Rotarians from the country and maintaining a current membership roster.
- Promote population projects:
- In developing countries
Find out real unmet needs in the community regarding population issues, cooperate with the community and local NGOs,
conceive populaion projects and submit project requests to RFPD Executive Director.
- In developed countries
Seek clubs and/or distrctis to sponsor population projects, co-fund them with member fees if possible and cooridnate the follow
up of thse projects until the final report is submmited to TRF and or to co-sponsors
- Act in a prominent role as part of the overall RFPD organization, and therefore report on objectives, activities, and accomplishments regularly within the
framework of an information system.
- Participate, when practical, in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) during international conventions of RI and in other international meetings of RFPD.
- Abide by the Constitution of RFPD
