The Rotarian Action Group for Population & Development held a series of successful meetings at the RI
Convention in the Salt Palace, Salt Lake City, Utah, June 2007. Over 120 Rotarians attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Tuesday, June 19th. Professors
Malcolm Potts and Martha Campbell spoke on Population issues, Frosty Wooldridge gave a hair-raising and eye-opening look at environmental degradation, and Lana Dakan spoke
about the Packard Foundation and its history with RFPD and Rotary International.At right Past RI President Frank Devlyn receives the Nafis Sadik
award for courage from PDG Buck Lindsay. At the Annual General Meeting, Professors Martha Campbell and Malcolm Potts and Frosty Wooldridge were named Paul
Harris Fellows. For the first time, Rotary International granted RFPD
two workshops at the convention. Both workshops were successful with attendance of over 300 people at the "RFPD's Contribution to the Millennium
Development Goals," and 125 people at the "Comprehensive Approach to Reduce Maternal Mortality." Panelists included the RFPD board of
directors, Prof. Malcolm Potts and Martha Campbell, Bill Ryerson, President of PMC, DG Saliu Ahmed, and Peter Neuner, Country Chair for Austria.
RFPD held a training session for Country Chairs (CC), Zone Coordinators (ZC) and Assistant Zone Coordinators (AZC). The training session was
well attended, and included a skit written by PRID Bill Cadwallader and presented by the USA ZC's and AZC's. RFPD also managed an exhibit booth in the House of
Friendship, where RFPD leaders, members and potential members gathered to network, establish projects and share in Rotary fellowship. RFPD's
current large-scale project: Improvement of Maternal Health - Prevention and Treatment of Obstetric Fistula exhibited in the House of Friendship. Click below for PowerPoint presentations presented in Salt Lake City 2007
